We're very happy to share we kick-off the 2022-2023 academic year with two courses (1 for BSc students, and 1 for MSc students) centered around the topic of Analytics for a Better World. Both are part of the core curriculum of the Business Analytics programs at the University of Amsterdam.
We're proud to share our founder ORTEC together with partner 510 has contributed to IFRC's Data Playbook! We think this is also very relevant (freely accessible) content for our other nonprofit partners.
Dick den Hertog (University of Amsterdam, ABW Institute) together with researchers from Tilburg University / ZHL and MIT / PEMPEM wrote a paper “Enhancing digital road networks for better operations in developing countries”.
Our partner 510, in a pro-bono collaboration with ORTEC (founder of Analytics for a Better World), developed a framework to identify what Data & Digital Maturity looks like across multiple levels. This framework has been adopted in the IFRC’s Digital Transformation strategy to offer a vocabulary of Digital Transformation in multiple contexts and provide a basis to track the process.
Prof. dr. ir. Hein Fleuren (Zero Hunger Lab) en prof. dr. ir. Dick den Hertog (Analytics for a Better World Institute) have been nominated by the Jury for the Huibregtsen prize for their research on “Less hunger by more math: innovative solution for more effective food aid”. The prize is meant for a recent research project that combines scientific quality and innovation with an exceptional contribution to society.
