The Analytics for a Better World Award!

The Foundation for the Dutch Data Science Awards and KHMW (Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities) announce the Analytics for a Better World Award.

The Analytics for a Better World Award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has applied analytics with a high social and/or societal impact that contributes to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Analytics for a Better World Award is intended for individuals or teams based in the Netherlands working at universities, NGOs, governments, and commercial companies. The award comes with a donation to a charitable organization of €3,000, €2,000, €1,000, for the first, second and third place respectively.

Analytics for a Better World would like to invite participants to submit a project for consideration for this award.

What should be submitted?

  • A description of the individual or organization’s project that has applied analytics with a high social and/or societal impact that contributes to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
  • A description, both qualitative and quantitative, of the impact this project has had on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (one or multiple SDGs).
  • An external statement in support of why this individual or organization should be awarded the prize from key stakeholders or beneficiaries of the project.

How will the entry be judged?

The prize will be awarded by the KHMW board based on the recommendation of a panel of judges comprising KHMW members. The judges will evaluate the entry based on the project’s application of analytics, the impact towards the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as its originality and scalability. In 2024 the jury consists of Sigrid van Aken, CEO Postcode Lottery Group and Mirjam van Praag, professor of Entrepreneurship and Leadership, VU Amsterdam.’
