How OMP is bringing supply chain intelligence to mission-driven organisations
For the Impact Accelerator Program, we sat with our friends from OMP to discuss how they resonate with the power of partnerships enabled by data, analytics, and ethical AI, and to learn more about their aspirations for the Inaugural Cohort's journey.

OMP’s mission is to help companies facing complex challenges to excel, grow, and thrive by offering the best digitised supply chain planning solution in the market. Their purpose is to empower, motivate, and inspire supply chain professionals, helping them outperform their goals, outsmart competition, and outclass themselves. As with the Impact Accelerator Program, their promise to their clients centres on sustainability. Jos van Henningen, the OMP Associate Director for CSR, said it best:
"Our promise is simple: we help our customers to shape up, smarten up and sharpen up – and we are committed to getting them there, now and in the long run. Our five values - People, Passion, Pride, Promise, Partner - are shared beliefs that reflect what we care about most. They embody our corporate philosophy, guiding both our internal culture and external relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. These values define who we are and what we stand for. At OMP, we take pride in our work, are passionate about what we do, and value the people we collaborate with every day."
OMP partnered with ABW for the Impact Accelerator Program because they believe it allows them to give back to the world by dedicating time and capacity and by sharing their skills in data analytics, operations research, and AI. As a company, they specialise in supply chain operations on a global level. Their experts analyse, model, implement, train, and support organisations in tackling complex supply chain challenges, ultimately transforming them into optimised solutions. The solutions they offer help mission-driven organisations achieve the best results from their investments and sponsored contributions.
Given OMP's professional excellence and the mutual enthusiasm shared between them, ABW, and the InfoNTD Consortium, the Impact Accelerator team expressed great confidence that the newly formed partnership will strengthen the capacity of mission-driven organisations towards meaningful impact on a global scale across the cohort. Read below OMP's perspective on the Impact Accelerator Program as part of the program's interview series, Co-Creating Change: Inside the ABW Impact Accelerator.
SDG 17 in Action
How do you think data analytics and AI help accelerate progress toward the SDGs? How do you see the added value resulting from partnerships (SDG 17) between academia, business and mission-driven organisations?
Data analytics and AI can significantly accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by improving understanding, increasing data quality, and enabling smarter decision-making. With better insights, processes can be streamlined and optimized, leading to reduced losses, lower distribution costs, and more accurate forecasting of future scenarios. Mathematical and analytical techniques long used by commercial multinationals can now, through initiatives like ABW’s IAP, be applied to mission-driven organizations to amplify their global impact.
At OMP, we strongly believe in the power of partnerships, as reflected in our mission and values. In the current setup of ABW’s IAP, the mission-driven organizations can reach a higher level of skills and knowledge through a combined effort of universities, which develop new techniques, and businesses that know how to apply them on a global scale. This collaboration perfectly embodies SDG 17, demonstrating that partnerships are essential for achieving real progress across all other SDGs.
The Vision for Success in the Impact Accelerator Program
How do you resonate with the program's cross-pollination learning goals? What do you hope to learn from your peers, and how do you envision your efforts will support the cohort?
"OMP hopes to gain a better understanding of the current level of professionalism in mission-driven organizations and identify the gaps compared to the global commercial multinationals we work with. These insights will help us adapt our approach for the next round of the ABW Impact Accelerator Program.
With our customers, we consistenly see improvements in forecast accuracy, customer satisfaction, inventory levels, distribution costs, raw material usage, and production efficiency, resulting in less scrap and more optimized recipes. In addition to these hard and measurable KPI’s, we have a rich customer-case history where we helped organizations build greater awareness of quality data collection, establish standardized processes worldwide, and adopt a more structured approach to getting things done. While these may seem like side-effects at first, in many cases, they’re exactly what organizations benefit from the most, leading to a higher level of professionalism.
By applying this tested success formula and accounting for the needs and resources of mission-driven organizations, by the end of the program, we aim for non-profits to have a practical, standardized tool they can use in their daily work, helping them use advanced mathematical techniques that are as simple and effective as a standard calculator. Hopefully with this support, they will be better equipped to reach their goals and make a positive impact on the world."
OMP is a proud partner of the ABW Impact Accelerator Program
